Snooker’s Biggest Names Set for Milton Keynes

The World Snooker Tour (WST) is returning once again to Marshall Arena, Stadium MK, for the English Open. The open starts on November 1st running for 7 Days of snooker filled action.

The world ranking event will be the first time that fans will be able to watch a world ranking event at this venue, last year Marshall Arena hosted the event behind closed doors but for the 2021 contest fans will be welcomed back.

Snooker’s top stars will be heading to Milton Keynes as our Marshall Arena will host the BetVictor English Open. Ronnie O’Sullivan, Neil Robertson, John Higgins, Mark Selby and last year’s English Open Champion and World Number One Judd Trump will all be competing, amongst others, to be crowned champion in the second of the four Home Nations series contests.

The first-round draw for the English Open has been made with a couple of opening matches to look out for. On Monday 1st November English Open holder Judd Trump faces Matthew Selt in the afternoon session, followed by Sanderson Lam taking on Mark Selby. The day 1 drama is set to continue in the evening session with Ronnie O’Sullivan facing off against David Lilley whilst John Higgins takes on Zhao Jianbo which will be followed by Neil Robertson battling Andy Hicks for a place in the second Round.

After a jam-packed day 1 Steven Hendry is set to face Chris Wakelin in the second match of the evening session. With two sessions a day across the week set to take place this is not one to be missed.

Young WST Star Peter Devlin joined us for our MKFM Pre-Match show on Saturday. Peter expressed his excitement to be playing in front of fans on home soil following his first televised outing with fans in attendance earlier this month at the Northern Ireland Open.
