England Lionesses Announce Squad Heading to Stadium MK

Today, February 7th, England announced the squad which will be heading to Stadium MK, Milton Keynes for the Arnold Clark Cup.

Four of the world’s top 20 teams will be battling it out for the Arnold Clark Cup trophy as the tournament returns to England this February. Which is set to include a double header at Stadium MK, the home of MK Dons in Milton Keynes.

Defending champions and UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 winners England will be joined by Italy, Belgium and Korea Republic in the round-robin tournament. Each team will play as part of a double-header fixture at the 30,500 capacity Stadium MK in Milton Keynes on Thursday 16 February 2023.

EURO 2022 winners Lucy Bronze and Milton Keynes local Leah Williamsonare among those back in the Sarina Wiegman’s England squad after missing out in the previous squad through injury. Much of the EURO 2022 winners remain in the squad with Georgia Stanway and Keira Walsh maintaining their place in the squad following moves to Europe in the off season.

However, despite moves in January there is no place in Weigman’s side for Jordan Nobbs of Aston Villa and Beth England who swapped Chelsea for Spurs. Whereas Manchester based Esme Morgan and Nikita Parris are the other major names to miss out. On the other hand, the Lionesses will welcome 22-year-old Emily Ramsey, who earns her second call up as Laura Coombs of Manchester City also returns to the squad for the first time since 2020.

The squad, who come to Stadium MK on February 16th, will look to defend the Arnold Clark Cup trophy which they won last year. England kick off their Arnold Clark Cup campaign here in Milton Keynes at Stadium MK as they face Korea Republic in the first of three matchdays.
